Bills re-sign QB Hamdan

Hamdan passed J.P. Losman on the depth chart last season. The former NFL Europe all star will be in the mix for a roster spot behind Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Hamdan's main competition will be Matt Baker.

Bills expected to retain Hamdan
He should be easy to keep with a low tender offer. Hamdan, a former NFL Europe player, might get a chance to compete for Buffalo's primary backup job in 2009. The Bills like his size (6'4/220), mobility, and arm strength.

Bills may let QB Hamdan play out the string
J.P. Losman has done nothing to help the Bills or his own future while filling in for Trent Edwards (groin). Coach Dick Jauron has yet to make up his mind, but don't be surprised to see the 2006 NFL Europe MVP out there if Edwards can't return.
